2) What types of fabrics do you use?
All our clothing is made from natural fibers such as cotton, linen and viscose – a regenerated cellulose fiber. Natural fibers are good for you and the environment because not only are they comfortable to wear, they’re also completely biodegradable. All our fabric and garments are lab tested to ensure durability and quality.
3) How do I care for my Ed-a-Mamma garment?
Our clothes wash really well on a cold cycle - and it’s better for the environment too. But don’t forget to check the care label on your garments to be sure of any particular instructions! All our fabric and garments are lab tested to ensure durability and quality and our fabrics are pre-washed to avoid shrinkage.
4) Where is Ed-a-Mamma clothing made?
We’re proud to be Indian! We work with factories across the country that are compliant of government regulations and follow fair trade standards. That means these factories have a low environmental impact, do not employ child labour, ensure that their workers are provided with a clean and safe environment and that they’re paid fairly.
5) What does GOTS mean?
You would have noticed that our range of organic tees is GOTS certified. Global Organic Textiles Standard (GOTS) is internationally recognized as the toughest organic textile standard because it goes far beyond verifying the organic farming process to include every step of manufacturing!
GOTS follows the cotton manufacturing process from A to Z which means that you can’t just claim your cotton is organic when it actually isn’t
GOTS checks factories to ensure workers have a safe and clean environment and are paid a fair, living wage
Clothes certified by GOTS aren’t allowed to contain any allergenic or toxic chemicals. Factories need to have a proper waste management and water treatment system in place. This not only has a positive impact on our farmers and factory workers, but also on our planet
GOTS - certified factories need to show how much water and energy they use to manufacture their cotton. GOTS puts target goals and procedures into place to help reduce consumption.
